Southwestern University will hold its annual Research and Creative Works Symposium—From Every Voice the evening of Tuesday, April 4 in various locations throughout the University. The event is free and open to the public.
Red and Charline McCombs Campus Center
The $11.2 million facility opened in 1998. It includes offices for more than 80 student organizations and student publications, dining services, a snack bar, the campus bookstore, a game room, a TV room, the campus post office, and the offices of Student Activities, Diversity Education, Religious Life, and the Dean of Students. The McCombs Campus Center also hosts campus events including the Homecoming Picnic, Family Weekend reception, and movies, concerts and lectures.
The center is named for two Southwestern alumni, Red McCombs, Class of 1949, and Charline Hamblin McCombs, Class of 1950. He recently completed an 8-year term as chair of Southwestern’s Board of Trustees. The University has bestowed upon him its Distinguished Alumnus Award, the Southwestern University Medal and an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree. She received the Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from Southwestern.
F.W. Olin Building
The F.W. Olin Building is home to Southwestern’s Aquatic Animal Research Laboratory.
