Part-time Instructor of Music
Dana Zenobi is actively engaged as a performer, and aims to bring her enthusiasm for performance to the teaching studio. She recently spent two seasons with Lyric Opera Cleveland, during which she performed in the first production of Adamo’s Little Women directed by the composer. This past season, she returned to Austin Lyric Opera in the American premiere of Philip Glass’s Waiting for the Barbarians, and appeared as Konstanze and Donna Elvira with Opera in the Heights (Houston, TX). Other opera credits include roles with The Living Opera (Richardson, TX) and Aspen Opera Theater Center. Competition credits include winning the voice division of the Entergy Young Texas Artists Competition, and a second place award in the National Federation of Music Clubs’ Biennial Young Artist Competition. Concert engagements have included Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass, the Fauré Requiem, and the Schubert Mass in G. Her primary teachers, mentors and coaches have included Irene Gubrud, Susan Dunn, Martha Deatherage, Juli Wood, Charles Riecker, and Hank Hammett. A native of Northport, NY, she holds a Bachelor of Arts from Duke University and a Master of Music degree from the University of Texas at Austin, where she was a teaching assistant.
