Vincent Lam
Assistant Professor of Music, part-time


VINCENT LAM received the Bachelor of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music, the Master of Music from the Cleveland Institute of Music and the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Minnesota. His teachers included Nina Lelchuk, Philip Kawin and Paul Schenly. Dr. Lam has performed throughout North America in solo recitals and chamber music. He was heard on a live WCLV radio recital that was broadcast throughout the country. He has received numerous prizes and awards including first prize at the James Tatem piano competition, fourth prize at Young Keyboard Artist Association piano competition and the Chrysler prize.
Dr. Lam has been a member of the faculty of the St. Joseph’s School of Music in St. Paul and the Holy Mountain Music School in Queens, NY and a teaching assistant at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN. He served as an adjudicator in the 2004 and 2005 Pearl Amster Competition sponsored by the Austin Civic Orchestra.
