Jeffrey Grimes is a doctoral candidate in Ethnomusicology at the University of Texas at Austin, specializing in the classical music tradition of North India. He also holds an undergraduate degree in music education from Texas Tech University. He has spent extensive periods in India studying Hindi and Marathi languages and Indian classical music with native instructors. At the University of Texas he is a member of the North Indian Music Ensemble and the University Gamelan. He has also performed on bass guitar and bassoon with various ensembles.
