EXHIBITION
OPPORTUNITIES
Art students are encouraged to enter juried competitions that are available to
undergraduates. Also, art majors may select to have a senior show of their work
in the S.U. art gallery. These opportunities are encouraged as students grow
in experience and maturity in their own work. Such exhibits offer students the
opportunity to see the work of their peers and gallery experience in presenting
their work in a professional manner. In years past a number of S.U. art majors
have exhibited their work in juried competitions. Last year two Southwestern
students were awarded first place prizes in the Texas College Art exhibition
for 1998 and several other students had work accepted into the juried 1998 NCECA
student competition.
