HOW TO APPLY FOR SPRING STUDY ABROAD
The study abroad application deadline for Spring 2005
is October 1st, and it's not too soon to start thinking about your options.
Follow these steps in applying for study abroad:
1. Look through the brochures in the Intercultural Learning
resource room (MBH 304) for programs you might like to participate in.
2. Schedule an appointment with Sue Mennicke to discuss
your program options. (email Beth Bankowski bankowsb@southwestern.edu at
the Office of Intercultural Learning, or call x 1857)
3. Fill out both an SU application, and the application
for the program you want to study abroad with, and turn in the applications
to Beth in the Office of Intercultural Learning, MBH 311 by the October 1st
deadline.
4. Have an official copy of your transcript sent to the
Office of Intercultural Learning, MBH 311. The form for having a transcript
sent is in the Office of the Registrar (1st floor Cullen Building) or is
available online via a link on the registrar's homepage.
5. You will probably need letters of recommendation from
your professors. Please allow faculty ample time to complete these
letters (at least 2 weeks)!
6. Make sure you have all of your application pieces (SU
and program applications, transcript, letters of recommendation, application
deposit, photos if needed, etc) turned into the Office of Intercultural Learning.
The office sends out the application. Do not send the application directly
to the program.
