as a jumping off point in your explorations of history on the Web. Remember,
there is a lot of good stuff out there, but there is also a lot of junk.
Surfing the net is still no substitute for going to the library and reading
a book.

James Ford Bell Library - This University of Minnesota library has a collection of on-line historical maps.
Hanover Electriconic Texts and Images - Superb collection of on-line primary documents and links to other web related resources.
Indiana State University Special Maps - Collection of maps relating to World War II, Korean, Vietnam, and the Gulf War.
Library of Congress - information on the Library of Congress and a searchable index of its collections

American Revolution
On-Line - Contains the full text of revolutionary documents such as

Archiving Early America - Includes

Valley of the
Shadow Project- The premier collection of Civil War social history
documents available. The project chronicles the lives of two communities
