SATURDAY, FEB. 16

Go Ape On The Mall!

Academic Mall, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
The Animal Behavior Society is hosting an ape-themed Field Day. Tickets are $5 per person. All proceeds will benefit the Jane Goodall Institute and will be presented to Dr. Goodall on April 2.

Games include:

  • Chimp Chase Relay Race (passing the banana-baton)
  • Bean-Bag Toss
  • Capture the Banana (Capture the Flag)
  • Tug-of-War
  • Pin the Tail on the Monkey

And more!

PRIZES throughout the day!!

Come have some field-day fun and donate to a good cause! Tickets will be sold all week outside the Commons and at the event.

WEDNESDAY, MAR. 6

Dog Walk / Cat Walk

Flag Grounds in front of Red and Charline McCombs Campus Center, 5 p.m.
Have you ever wanted to be a model? More important, do you think your dog is beautiful enough to be a model? This is your chance to strut your stuff! Get dressed up in your nicest or silliest clothes and walk your dog down the catwalk! (Leashes required). Judges will award prizes in multiple categories. Entries can be individual or in groups. Don't have a dog, but another pet that you can walk/carry down the catwalk? That works too! Get your competitive spirit on and show off your beautiful pets for all of Southwestern to see!
$5 per entry ($10 for groups of 3 or more people). All proceeds benefit the Jane Goodall Institute.

This year, the Animal Behavior Society's annual fundraiser will benefit the Jane Goodall Institute. This fun event is exactly what it sounds like: Bring your dogs and cars of all sizes and breeds, and we'll get them squeaky clean for you! $5 per dog and/or car

A Conversation With Dr. Stephanie Braccini ’02

Dan Rather Room, Red & Charline McCombs Campus Center, Noon
After graduating from Southwestern, Dr. Braccini earned her Ph.D. at the University of St. Andrews. Currently, she is a primatologist at Washington University in St. Louis, as well as the Zoological Manager of Great Apes at the St. Louis Zoo. She has recently done research in the Congo.
