President & Leadership
Jake B. Schrum is the 14th person to serve as president of Southwestern University.
A native of Sugarland, Texas, President Schrum received his B.A. in psychology from Southwestern University in 1968 and earned a Master of Divinity degree from Yale University in 1973.

President Schrum has served as a college and university administrator for nearly 40 years. He was president of Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth before being named president of Southwestern in 2000. President Schrum is a national leader in the field of higher education and a leading proponent of liberal arts education. He has announced plans to retire as president of Southwestern on June 30, 2013. He will become president of Emory & Henry College in Virginia on Aug. 1, 2013. Related Content: |
