SU Psi Chi Members Dominate Allyn & Bacon Awards

Congrats to Cari Cohorn and Jennifer Knight for snagging 1st and 3rd place, respectively, in the Psi Chi/Allyn & Bacon national paper competition. Cari Cohorn ('99 grad) won 1st place overall for her paper (co-authored with Dr. Traci Giuliano and in press at the Psi Chi Journal of Undegraduate Research) entitled "Predictors of Adjustment and Institutional Attachment in First-Year College Students." Senior Jennifer Knight won 3rd place overall for her paper (co-authored with Dr. Traci Giuliano and currently under review at Basic and Applied Social Psychology), "Famous or Infamous: The Influence of Race and Celebrity Status on Perceptions of Rape." Past Psi Chi President Sam Fiala ('99 grad) tied for 2nd place last year, further substantiating the ability of SU students to design and write-up good, solid empirical research.
