Software Available in the LLC

There are several software programs installed in the Language Learning Center which will help you in your study of Latin. These programs and their features are briefly summarized below.

Latin Grammar Computerized I

Click on the hard drive icon and then click on the folder. Choose the topic you want by clicking on it. After three unsuccessful attempts are made, the program gives the correct answer.

Latin Grammar Computerized II

Same as Latin Grammar Computerized I. This part features deponent verbs and the subjunctive mood (used in purpose clauses, after verbs of fearing, etc.).

Cloze Encounters in Latin

A Cloze exercise consists of sentences (or a whole paragraph) with words left out, either at random or in a pattern (all verbs, all prepositions, etc.). Your job is to complete the sentence or paragraph with words that make sense in context and are grammatically correct. This program leads you towards writing in Latin, and, though challenging, is very helpful in refining and perfecting your knowledge of grammatical forms.

Quo Modo Dicis?

In this program, you can do Latin-to-English translation, at a level of difficulty chosen by you. You fill in the missing word letter by letter, much as in Hangman or "Wheel of Fortune."

Please ask whenever you have questions about any of these programs1
